Each year all Living Seas officers from across The Wildlife Trusts come together at Folly Farm for a 2 day residential training workshop. Over the course of the 2 days officers are provided with the opportunity to network, meet new staff and share ideas and best practice. Training and open discussion sessions are organised to ensure that all staff are up to speed with latest conservation news, thinking and policy development. This valuable session ensures that all staff feel part of the wider Living Seas team and know who to contact in other Trusts and nationally.
This year, the second day of the event also saw a Living Seas day run for recruiters (run in parallel to that for Living Seas staff) to enthuse them about the marine environment, provide them with another angle for membership and to ensure that they are all aware of our latest campaign Petition Fish II – which is calling for people to support a network of Marine Protected Areas in UK seas. For more information and to sign up, keep an eye on http://www.wildlifetrusts.org where further information will shortly be available.
