There are many things that make Folly Farm special. It's a place to learn and explore, a place for inspiration, a place to lie in the grass and discover a new world.
The Folly Farm Centre has a brand new education programme filled with exciting hands-on activities and games to challenge every learning style. The Centre is set in a stunning 250-acre nature reserve and offers comfortable en-suite accommodation in the restored farmhouse.

Key Stage 2
- Creatures of the Night Open
Duration – 2 days / 1night
Venture out into the woods at night to discover the secret life of Folly Farm’s nocturnal inhabitants. Listen for owls, look for bats and enjoy a badger watch with the Folly Farm Education team.
This package can be adapted for ages 7 – 13.
Optional Extras (per day) with Mendip Outdoor Pursuits – Enjoy a day of archery, orienteering or problem solving on Folly Farm, or join the team off-site for kayaking, rock-climbing, caving and abseiling.
- Pick and Mix Activity Week Open
Duration – 5 days/ 4 nights
You can choose from a selection of the any of the day visit programmes to tailor-make your perfect Folly Farm experience – including visits to other attractions in the area too. This pick and mix package can be adapted for all ages.

- Earth Keepers - yrs 5 & 6 Open
This detailed and innovative environmental education programme begins with three full days of hands-on ecological and magical experiences at Folly Farm, and then continues at school and is on-going at home (eg recycling).
Activities enhance knowledge and understanding of food chains, habitats, inter-relationships, natural cycles, our place in history, how humans fit into and our impact on the natural world, including our use of energy and materials.
National Curriculum links – Science – living things in their environment; life processes; adaptation; food chains; materials changing over time; natural cycles. Geography: landscapes past and present; human impact on the environment; interdependence; environmental change and sustainable development. Citizenship social responsibility; confidence and a ‘can-do’ attitude to new challenges. History: chronological understanding.
This course can be run as a series of day visits or students can become fully immersed in the learning whilst staying at the Folly Farm Centre as part of a residential visit.
