Folly Farm’s 250-acre nature reserve is widely known for its natural grassland, wildflower meadows and ancient woodlands, and stands on a ridge of land enjoying stunning views across the Chew Valley, towards Chew Valley Lake.

Some woodland and meadowland on the nature reserve is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. All the profits from the Folly Farm Centre are ploughed back into the conservation work of Avon Wildlife Trust, who manage the nature reserve in order to protect and enhance its wonderful habitats and biodiversity.

The nature reserve is home to fascinating wildlife ranging from owls, woodpeckers and buzzards to butterflies, bluebells and orchids. Flowers such as oxeye daisies and betony flourish in the nature reserve too, producing wonderful displays of colour in the meadows.

There are a number of waymarked footpaths which wind their way around the nature reserve.
